Group calls for constituencies’ project………..Says Wale Fatade

The media support centre MSC an organization that uses the collective information of Nigerians to advocate social justice issues and those of good governance has today delve on Nigerian constituencies with its  current project on “they work for you; campaign to reform the consistency projects in Nigeria”. This project centers on bringing attention to the public as to know more on how billions of naira.
Basically, the burdens of Nigeria democratic governance are not solely to be shoulder by the presidency however huge trunk of it is at the disposal of the members of the Senate and the House of Representatives respectively. Last years 100 billion naira fund is being allocated to constituency projects. To this senator Ali Ndume confirmed when he said that “a total of 900 billion has so far been appropriated for constituency projects of legislature since 2004. The money which is domiciled in the central bank of Nigeria with the ministry of finance; ministry   of special duties and inter- governmental affairs in Abuja, the project usually come to the national assembly as an executive act special intervention fund”. This year’s budget recently got signed and the budgeted amount is 4.6 trillion naira as agreed by the Senate and House Of Representatives.
 On this note, the consultant researcher to the media support centre, Tunde Akauni who is also a lecturer in journalism department of the Lagos State University briefed on how he has able to get feedbacks from various constituencies as regards to their constitutional project but all was to no avail as it all yielded an effortless result, he went to the of going to the internet.  When He said “lawmakers are not project executioners. But Nigerian legislatures are never tired of innovations. I tried using the solving research method as regards to questionnaire and random sampling methods as a consultant to 500 NGOs, the legislative and various governance indexes but nothing is there about constituencies’ project”.  He also made known the fact that dispatching of money as part of constitutional projects as regards to the citizens demands is out of the line as a constitutional project is one who will benefit everyone, including the children, young, old, physically challenged and even students.
Chair board to Media Support Center Ojobo Atuluku said that “the legislatives owes its duty to ensure that they have system and institutions that are operational because Nigerians way of life, our culture  has not experienced any significant change as at now and that of 1999 as we are all revolving round the circle.
It however was spelt properly out as to what the Executive Director to Media Support Centre Wale Fatade said that “senators and house of reps are creaming us off every year of 100 billion naira which at that is not creating any difference in the lives of Nigerians and the society at large.  He furthered stated that these are senators who go about providing motorized boreholes, streetlights where the roads are not even motorable”.  Meanwhile he stated that we the citizen must stand for are rights perhaps we don’t even know our rights?
Democracy is of the people for the people and the people. To sum it up, citizens should raise the sensitization that yes we have right says Senator Ganiyu Olawale Solomomon.
